Residents of these localities who meet any of the following qualifications may receive their pet's surgery at no charge (in some cases will include rabies vaccination and transportation if needed):

  • on government assistance,
  • annual income of less than $30,000,
  • full-time college students,
  • owners of pit bulls (and strong pit bull mixes),
  • owners of Rottweilers,
  • feral cat caregivers.

Metro Cat Action Team (MCAT): www.mcatdc.org. MCAT provides low-cost and no-cost spay/neuter services and vaccinations for outdoor cats. They also provide training about trap-neuter-return and they lend humane traps. MCAT is a local program of Alley Cat Allies, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping feral cats by reforming ineffective, inhumane animal control policies and providing resources for thousands of individuals and organizations who care for these cats.
